WeyShare - A library-of-things where local people donate tools they don't need and are thinking of throwing away and replacing. We assess, repair and bring them back into long-term use by loaning them out to other local people for a small fee. It's kind of like community tool hire and repairs. It saves people buying tools that they need and might not use very often or want to store them to use just once or two a year. Think carpet cleaners, pressure washers, sewing machines, rotavators, saws and all manner of useful tools that you might not have in your house but need from time to time to do important jobs around the home. The net effect of all this is that people consume less, spend less and save the planet at the same time! Weymouth Bay Seaweed - The nutritional value of seaweed is becoming very well-known. Anyone from athletes to people with health conditions add it to their diet to get a lot of the vitamins and minerals that their bodies need. Weymouth bay is a sustainable source of a variety of seaweeds (macro algae) and we sustainably forage, dry and mill some of it to flakes before selling it locally from the shop and at markets across Dorset. Home Energy Assessment & Retrofit Service - Our founder, Jason, turned a semi-derelict local Victorian terraced house in the Park District into a net zero carbon home in 2017/18. He learnt a lot from the experience and is now a qualified Retrofit Coordinator having passed a Level 5 Retrofit Coordination and Risk Assessment course which aligns with the governments PAS 2035 standards for whole house retrofit. Solid Fuel Recycled Sawdust Briquettes - When available we sell these locally sourced briquettes made solely of compacted hardwood shavings from a local joinery business. They are much drier than even kiln dried wood and a lot cheaper because we sell them by the kilo at a bulk price (40p per kilo) if you bring your own bags. This is our way of helping local people who have to burn to keep warm and might be suffering from the cost of living and heating their home.
